System Summary:

Gigabyte GA-BX7 mobo (intel 440bx chipset)
celeron 800 cpu
maxtor 10gb 5400 rpm hdd
samsung 10gb 5400 rpm hdd
epox ep-dro2p3 raid controller card

everything worked previous to card installation...both drives work and the cables work.

i popped in the card, made sure jumper settings were right and connected both drives to seperate ide channels on the card, booted up and went into the bios to change boot sequence...first i did CDROM, A, C...then SCSI, A, C...no difference was made by changng the boot sequence...

well after the system's bios loaded, the card's bios came on to detect hard drives...i hit Cntrl + u to get into the setup...there the bios deteced hard drives connected to primary ide master and secondary ide master...so all good so far

well i tried deleting a partition on one of them and it frooze

rebooted, tried again, same thing..rebooted again and this time i tried just changing one of the otpions, there is an option to change for best performance or safe performance..default is safe..i changed to best..saved and exited, rebooted..went back in and found out it didnt save...well this time i just let the thing boot and saw a message 'BIOS is NOT Installed' during the raid card's bios....tried to install windows xp with the correct raid drivers and it said it could not detect any hard drives...

im at a loss for what to do, please help?
