EOLEException Error

hi,

i'm having a problem with my application running in a machine with windows 2000 server.

it shows de login form, but after the user writes his name and password, the system shows the following message:

"error trying to report exception: EOleException"

after that the application runs, but nothing works.

does anybody know what could be happening ?

Tell me more about the application. Does it use OLE (object linking and embedding) to automate/control another application? I use OLE to automate Microsoft Word into printing mail-merge documents for me and I sometimes get OLE Exceptions when the version of Word changes (user upgrade) or from networking problems when Word is used across a network. If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid

hi,

we don't use OLE in this particular application. actually the problem is ocurrying after the user informs his name and password.

i'll check with my team but i believe that this application doesn't use OLE automation.

Can you post the code where the error occurs?

It looks as though you may have caught the exception properly, that is why the application continues.

Hard to say why the exception occurs without seeing what you are trying to do with it though.

BTW I'm going to steal: If it's stupid but it works, it isn't stupid
