Can anyone tell me the difference between the Enterprise and Standard versions of Domino? The difference in price is quite extreme, what would Enterprise get us that Standard does not?

I'm just looking for an overview really, I have no experience of Domino or Notes...

Thanks,
Gav.

Messaging Server is designed to be a calander and messaging system only. You cannot design/run applications/databases on this server. You also cannot cluster servers together for high availability.

Utility server is designed for designing/running applications/database on the server. It will not handle any of the mail and calendaring functions. You are able to cluster up to six servers together to provide for a high level of availabiliy.

Enterprise is designed to handle everything. You have calendaring and mail functions, application/database functions and are able to make the system highly available via clustering.

So it get's down to what you want to do. If you are just going to start off with e-mail, then Messaging is where you want to be. You can always add a Utility server to start working with application development and you can always migrate the whole thing to enterprise should your needs grow to that point.
