Does anyone's IS shop allow users access to Enterprise Manager to query against the database? If so will the role dbreader be enough so that they cannot create objects on the database?
Once a user is dbcreator for a database. He is going to be the dbo of that database. What is dbo?It means it's the god of that database. So he can do anything in that database, not even system admin can stop dbcreator to create object in his own database.
Yes, we alow our production support team to use enterprise manager to monitor over the SQL Seerver. Since they need ore permissions than just datareader we had to create them a specal group. But, db_datareader will only allow for the user to select data in enterprise manager, the user will not be able to update, delete, insert or aleter/create any object in whatever database they are allowed access.
