Enterprise Manager / 2003 Web Edition Installation

Hello All,

Has anyone ever installed the SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager and associated tools on a "Windows 2003 Web Edition" server?

I know that the actual server compenent is not supported (fair enough) but i have a Web Edition server in a DMZ and the Web Development guys would like Enterprise Manager on it. I would prefer to do this than give them access to the server internally.

I've never actually tried it. I do know that Ent Manager 2000 has a few issues with Windows 2003 Server, but that's not the same thing as the Web Edition and it is mainly related to the actual SQL Server itself being on Win 2k3 Server.

Just out of curiosity, do they actually *need* Ent Mgr access or do they just want it? @=)

Thanks for the reply.

The guys actually needs it for access to some of the stored procedure "stuff".

Not being an SQL Server man in great detail myself i am not aware of there being any other way of getting at the Stored Procedures other than Enterprise Manager.

Assuming that is the case is there a separate install available for the Management Tools or is there a setup switch for them?
