Hello,

I have an E10K running SSP 3.3 on Solaris v8 (10-01 version). I cannot set up my domain from the SSP, since each time I attempt a command from the SSP it tells me the SSP is not the main. I set it up as the main.

Also, there is no domain_config file either. This is a machine that is not under SUN contract any longer. I am using CB1 along with 2 domain boards. Any thoughts?

Thanks

- Chris

How did you set it up as main? Using ssp_config?

Do you have a spare SSP? Does it work from there?

Annihilannic.

I tried using ssp_config, and it tells me that I need to run this command as the main. So, I then tried using the ssp_config spare command with the same results. There is no backup ssp at the moment, I am just trying to get to the control board, set up the domains, etc..

Just as a little more background info. I have installed the ssp from the SOlaris 2.8 (12/02)) install disks. Is it required that I find an actual SSP install disk? I've installed the ssp packages in order from the disk as well.

Thanks!

C

What does $SSPVAR/.ssp_private/main_ssp_name contain?

Can you post what's displayed on the screen when you go throught the ssp_config and try to set it up as the main SSP?

Just a wild shot, but are you using csh for the SSP user? If not, you probably should be.

Annihilannic.

Sorry for the delay in the return message. I am using csh, I haven't changed that. I removed all the SSP packages with the pkgrm command, then reloaded them. The machine was then inadvertently powered down by the local electric co-op...so now there are other issues. <groan> However, once we get things squared away, I'll send you the output and go from there.
Thanks

Chris
