When opening a database I keep getting an "Enter Parameter Value" message box, I assume, asking for some value to be entered by me. In my application I should not need to supply this data, Therefore, how would I go about finding, or what would I look for, trying to repair the code, or mis-code? The "Enter Parameter Value" box is asking for a "countclosed" value. It looks correct, however I am still very novice. Any ideas would be appreciated, respectfully - ddmtn546.

Two way of approaching it:

1) Check what form starts automatically by right clicking the top of the database container window and selecting 'Startup'. It will show a 'Display Form' which could easily be causing your problem. Open the form in design mode and look at the Record Source property to determine whether it uses a query as it's record source. If so, open the query in design mode and look for 'Criteria' that has [Enter Parameter Value]. I assume something this flagrant would have had to be designed into the database.

2) Open queries in design mode and look for one that has [Enter Parameter Value] in the Criteria.

We can't tell you how to redesign the database to fix this, however, using a parameter based query at startup is extremely questionable.
