Enforce number entry

Please advise how I would enforce a person put in a number in a field and not letters.

I have a form that asks for phone number and want to put in a pop up message if someone puts in characters instead of a phone numer.

I'm not sure how to provide an error message but you can use an "input mask", in design view, to specify how the data is to be formatted. Steps: open the form, change to design view, right click on the text box to change, go to properties, go to input mask under the data or all tab, click on the input mask field, click on the new small icon to change the format. To display an error message you could use VBA or perhaps even a macro would work. Probably VBA is required though.
