I have a cordless that just keeps ringing for no reason. I swapped out the card it is on and it did not change so I don't think it's hardware related.
Here is a print on the TN

Is there something here that could be causing it?

Not a thing, take a test set and go across T/R and se if you hear RG, if so change the Analog Card

Thanks Perrypj, but I already swapped the card with a known working card and the problem remained the same.

GH, how do I remove distinctive ring? I don't see DRDA in the CLS.

If it rings normally on an internal call, it is not Distinctive Ring.

Bring the cordless to another place, like home or a friends house. Does it ring correctly there?

Find more at GHTROUT.com

The cordless does not seem to be the problem, there is also an external ringer hooked up, both ring from the moment they are plugged in. If you pick up there is just the system tone, as soon as you hang up it begins ringing again.

YOU DID SAY IF YOU HEARD RG ON THE T/R

I'm sorry, I was under the impression it had an external ringer, I believe it is actually tied to a outside call box that was recently replaced. Evidently the problem started 2 weeks ago and the client waited until this box was repaired to report the problem. If the wiring was damaged and shorted I believe it would cause the ringing, however when answered they should receive dead air, not a dial tone correct?

I am awaiting more info on this box and it's repair.

Ok, so the box is a Valcom V-1074, connected to 11-7, I disabled card 7 and got this:

It started spitting out those ERR codes immieditly after I disabled the card, which didn't fix the ringing, now that I re-enabled the ERR continue to spit out along with

If you connect an analog phone to the cross connect on 11 - 7 can you answer the phone normally? If not the issue is with the telco line, if you can answer, connect it back, then disconnect the ringer and cordless phone and use a standard analog phone or butt set to test the internal TN at the frame, (remove the cross connect to the phone and the valcom.) this will prove if the PBX is good or not.
Connect back up the phone and the Valcom one at a time to see if you can determine if one of them has an issue, by calling with each one connected, one at a time. Test at the main frame and at the location if necessary to test out the lines too.
The problem may be as simple as your cordless phone needs charging or replacing, so you might want to start by hooking up a standard wired analog phone in place of the wireless and test..

Ok, now that those XMI popped up the ERR went away, but still have ringing on the cordless.

It is able to send and receive calls fine, of course you can't tell when to answer because it is always ringing.

trvlr1 I was mistaken in my initial explanation. The cordless is connected alone @ TN 8 7, the valcom is connected alone @ 11 7 which is actually a analog line port.

Have you tried changing the phone to a wired known good phone, at least to test? Also, what have you done in programming to make a trunk line and an analog line ring at the same time and has anyone made any changes to this recently?

Does any one know about this patch I found mentioned in another thread?
The Patch "mplr 09158" is for never end ringing 500 sets
Is there any way to get and install this patch?

I inherited the system so I'm not sure how it is setup, all I have is the TN print shown above. I will try another analog set to see if this resolves it, I outed the TN and am awaiting confirmation if it has stopped ringing or not, I plan to rebuild based off whats shown above, is that trunk port still going to ring into it?

So I have rebuilt the TN and it is no longer ringing unless called, however the call box is no longer ringing to it either.

Can someone please tell me how to assign trunk 11 7 to ring to TN 8 7?

Thank you.
