I am a novice CR developer and have a project that intails giving the end user the ability to sort by any group over the web to create individual reports. I am using information out of a Lotus Notes Database.

My question is this, I would like to have the group tree show and have each of the groups listed(ie. Locations, Departments, Contacts, Users...), so that the end user could click on Locations and locations would be the sort key, then click on Departments, then that would be the sort key column. Is this possible? This is how I would like it to look:
__________________ Locations _Departments_Contacts_Users____
Report Title |
| |
Locations |
| |
Departments |
| |
Contacts |
| |
Users |

Your help is appreciated,

John

I believe this is possible.

Normally, in a stand alone crystal report, you would create paramter fields, and according to the response to the paramter field, crystal would sort and group differently.

In this case, you would need the event - clicking on the heading of a certain column - to pass the parameter to the crystal report, which would then refresh with the report sorted as desired.

I hope this helps. I am not a webpage developer, so I cannot help you out beyond the concept outlined here.

Good luck and let us know how this turns out. Software Support for Macola, Crystal Reports and Goldmine
