Okay here's my dilema....
I have a reinstalled win2k server and it has an encrypted folder WHICH! was encrypted by a previous user that is no longer available....
Is there a way to get around this encrypted folder issue...I have only found prevention of this situation but no solution to get by it, if it happens
what I have used
1)cipher (windows 2000 tool)
2)efsinfo (win2k resource kit) to check it. This returns the next line:
Unknown(OU=EFS encryption Certificate,L=EFS, CN=Gone)
yes the previous user who encrypted the user was "Gone"
has anyone got to this calamity and got out of it....or will pigs actually fly in this case.
all your suggestions would be most helpful.
cheers
mentally encrypted(with no hope of recovery)
