EMM386

Has anyone ever heard of using emm386.exe in the config.sys file with Windows 2000? We have some old software we are trying to use, and the vendor's tech support has given us instructions to modify config.sys and add the path device=c:\dos\emm386.exe RAM NOEMS.

I haven't used emm386 since the Win 3.11 days. I found an emm386.exe to download and certainly can path it - but am still unsure.
BUT this seem ODD!

Anyone done this before?

Win2k uses config.nt (in \winnt\system32), not config.sys. If you look at config.nt file it has some help on use of EMM.
