Emergency Telephone 1 & 2

I was looking at the Wiring Diagrams and I noticed a PIN OUT for two Emergency Telephones as shown below. What are these used for or what devices can be used here:

Those connections are to be used for analogue sets if you have a power failure, and need to access the CO lines to answer or place a call on line 1 or 2.

Then these could also be referred to as PFT or Power Failure Tranfer?

Will I hear dial tone if I connect my test set to it or will it only activate if the system is off line?

Can they be used for any other analog purpose like a credit card machine? IS this like adding an ATA?

I believe only can draw dt after power failure.

During normal system operation, nothing is there on those pairs. Only when there is NO power going to the KSU will you have DT as mentioned in the above post.
