Hi,

My windows 2000 worked ok before, but last night, I decided to make a user log in before he can use the computer, although I am the only person who uses the computer. But after I restarted the computer, everything went ok, computer boot up fine, until it got to the log in window where a user is supposed to enter username/password, but at that point, there is no keyboard or mouse. I can not type. Even if I press the "Num Lock" key, the number lock light won't change at all. There is also no mouse pointer. I know the keyboard and mouse both work fine, since I am writing this post using the same computer, but booted to Linux. Does anybody know how to reverse back the selection? I don't have access to regedit, as you might imagine, but I do have access to files under windows, since I can mount it under linux. Any comments or suggestions would be highly appreciated!!! Thank you very much.

You could try using the Last known good control set, i don't know if it will soft this prob or not but worth a try.

Just after booting the machine you should see a prompt saying "Press spacebar now to invoke Last Known Good" as the OS has not loaded the keyboard should work.
