Embedded spaces in Parameter Pick List

Hello,

I am trying to import a pick list for use in a drop down box of parameters. That is the easy part, the difficulty I am encountering is that the selections have embedded spaces (required) in front of the selection. When I pull the list in the spaces are removed from the selection.

Is there a way to 'keep' the embedded spaces from the import list?

I'm unaware of this issue, but then you didn't state your version of Crystal so I doubt people will bother testing/confirming this.

Perhaps you can replace them with dashes or some such by exporting the pick list, doing a search and replace, and then inporting them again (assuming that you're using Crystal directly, and not using code, and that you're getting the pick list from the database and not a file, again, you post very little technical information for someone requesting it).

Synapse - thanks I must have been asleep!

I am using Crystal Developer 9.0.

I am importing the pick list from a database directly into the pick list. The values display correctly until I > them over to the Default Values. At that point the proceeding spaces in front of the value are stripped away.

Dashes (or any other character attempted) does not work because the database does not read the dashes as spaces when accessing the database.

Tried exporting and importing the pick list as well from a .txt file with the same results. The proceeding spaces are stripped away.

Export, do a search and replace to create the dashes, then import.
