Stupid question I fear. I moved a field over the top of a text object so that it becamse one text object, with the field embedded. I can see that this would sometimes be useful, but how do I go about un-doing it? Separating the text label from the object? Thank you!

'Fraid once it's in there, it's in there. Even if you try to Cut or Copy it, nothing will happen when you try to paste it (unless you just paste it back into the text object). You need to drag the field back onto the report.

I would do an immediate edit->undo. You can also right click on the text box->edit text and place the cursor before the field and delete it or after the field and backspace to delete it.

After reading LB's post, I realize my post was unclear. If you want to take a field out of a text object and drop it back onto the report canvas, you can't. But if you want to get it out of the text object, do as LB states.
