Embedded Messages

I have four users that have embedded email attachments that they cannot open. We migrated from GroupWise to Outlook and these messages have a weird looking icon. MS Office attachments open fine. For example, if I forwarded an email message to them, they may or may not be able to open it. If you right click on the attachment and save it to their hard drive, the dialog box opens and the file name has .msg.msg as the extension. If you remove one of the .msg from the file name and hit save, the icon where you saved it reverts back to the correct icon (a closed envelope). So I know that the problem appears to be with the extension. Anyone know of a fix on how to remove that second .msg file extension? It started with one person and has now migrated to 3 others. I can see that this is starting to spread.
 
Hey did you ever find a fix for this? I have the same problem but when the user tries to open the attachement or forwarded message it says wrong form is trying to be used.
