Using CDONTS to create an email on an intranet server that is connected to another server running Exchange. We've added the 'smart host' entry under IIS/SMTP,Delivery-Advanced. When we try to send an email we get the message:

The e-mail system was unable to deliver the message, but did not report a specific reason. Check the address and try again. If it still fails, contact your system administrator.

<abc.ggg.com #5.0.0 smtp;550 Rule imposed mailbox access for pp@ggg.com refused>

Any ideas?

It might be time to try and starts using the CDOSYS object. CDONTS was being phased out with Win 2000 and doen't even exist on later machines. CDOSYS was installed on everything from Win 2000 on. It poffers a lot more functionality and may give you better error reporting (or possibly play better with your Exch Server).
