HELP! Have gone over to XP Pro from Win2k and copied all of my .dbx email files onto our file server to back them up so I could have a completely clean install. Having transferred them back into the Local Settings/Identities etc. folder I now open OE6 and the folder list is not present attached to my inbox. I have messages in my inbox that were in there before I transferred over but my sent items have also disappeared, does anyone have an idea on how to solve this??

Thanks for that but it only shows before you reformat, not after. All of the .dbx files show large sizes so the messages are there but not in my OE. Any ideas

Pete

I was too subtle. My point in the link was that you will have to edit the registry keys shown to point to your new folder locations.

Or, do the import function.

Finally, there was a quick workaround were you let it create the account structure, then replace the .dbx files.

Is there any chance of step by step instructions on how to change them? I have deleted all files from my local setting OE file and replaced them with the .dbx files again and only the Inbox messages appear, not even sent items registers any messages. Have also tried importing aswell and all that does is selects the standard folders, none of my personally created ones.
