email stay in outbox after successful send (Outlook 2000)

Hi,
I have a problem with Outlook 2000 running on Windows 2000 where email messages stay in the outbox after a successful send. They are not moved to the "sent items" folder as per usual.
Office 2000 is completely up to date.
I have tried all related option and settings within outlook and still no luck in resolving this issue.

Any assisstance would be greatly appreciated.
