I create email groups in Exchange 2003 but these do not display in Outlook. This used to be automatic in Exchange 5.5. Anyone help?

IT sometimes takes a while, can you see the email addresses under the email address tap in AD?
under exchange advanced the hide group is unticked?

in Outlook if you go to tools send and recive, download address book is it there?

Most likely, your clients are in cached mode. What you think is the GAL is actually the OAB (Offline Address Book).

In Exchange System Manager, right click the OAB and choose rebuild. Depending ont he size of your organization, this can take up to 48 hours to fully (and automatically) propogate to the clients. Wait a few hours and use the advice given above to pull down the new OAB to try pulling it down faster. Unfortunatley there is no way to know when the OAB is done updating.

If you are in a bind and absolutley must gain access to those groups, then temporarily turn off cached mode.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark
