Good evening -

Can someone tell me if it is possible to search the mail store in Exchange 2000 for specific messages and then save the search results to disk?

I need to find all messages from and too a specific person over a period of a few years. I'm not certain which Outlook users would have been involved in the messaging, so I'm thinking I should check all users mailboxes.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated -

You could use message tracking to search for e-mails sent to or from an individual, but this only shows you time/date and optionally subject. You would have to have had this feature already turned on and kept the log files.

To actually see the content, you would have needed to archive all the messages. And again, this had to have been turned on ahead of time, you can't go back in time.

If you have backups that cover the time frame you are looking for, you could dump the store to a recovery server, exmerge out the 2 mailboxes to a PST and then search that way.
