Elevator emergency phone

We have elevator with emergency analog phone (built-in phone).
Problem is when call from this emergency phone (7935) to receptionist (7212) is is answered and then receptionist hang-up phone. Then emergency phone (built in elevator) stays off-hook. Then dial tone is received on emergency phone. After that off-hook dialing time out and emergency phone does not relese line.

Is there any way that emergency phone goes on-hook after call?

This is a push to talk phone perhaps, and not a typical phone with a handset and cradle?

Elevator phones are usually push-to-talk; did you set this up as a normal 2500 set or as a ring-down?

Is this a new installation or a problem that has just come up? Many of the push to talk phones have programmable settings that control disconnect and such.
