Hi,

I'm wondering what the actual manageable maximum amount of rows per table is in SQL Server 2005.

If I can believe this link: the theoretical maximum is limited only by 'diskspace'.

But I imagine that the effective maximum is limited, because after a while it would become unworkably slow to manage.

Any idea what the effective maximum would be? (generally speaking)

Thanks

Completely depends upon the environment, the content of the table, the activity, the definition of "workable" in this case, etc. Maybe if you can post the reason why you're asking the question, we may be able to offer better advice?

We have people here who support SQL Server databases that are terrabytes in size. If you have the right equipment and design and indexing and have taken care to write efficient code, you are unlimted in size.
