Hi, I have a form which runs off a query, I would like to be able to edit details in the form. But when I try to overtype or add it is completly disabled! Though in properties "Allow Edits" is YES, any ideas?

Hi

Maybe the query is not an updatable query?

Try running the query by itself, try typing into a column of the result set, can you update?

Hi

You need to make it an updatable query

Not an exhaustive list but to begin:

Do you have:

any outer joins in it?

Group By Clause?

You might want to ensure you leave 'Data Entry' Unchecked in your form properties.

Hi If the query is not updatable then it is not "Simple", it must have some characteristic which makes it none updatable

KenReay,

You are correct, my query is only selecting the Distinct transactions. AS I do not want to see any duplicate entries. Any ideas from here.

Many thanks for your time.

Perry

The DISTINCT predicate make a query not updatable, dot.

Hope This Helps, PH.
