Editing an existing site in dreamweaver

I have a friend who wants his site updated, but when I try saving it from the net and then opening it in Dreamweaver it just says .WAF in the upper left hand corner of the window. Is it possible to update a site like this?? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hmmmm, I'm wondering how you "saved it from the net". Maybe you're doing it back-to-front. Trying setting up a site in Dreamweaver first, then use the GET to download all the files from your friend's site - presumably you have the password.
