I created a chart that plots the ratio between cost and revenue for each month over a two year period.

I want to add a line that shows the average of all the date points. Is it possible to do this and if so, how?

It is possible, however, before I jump off the edge on this one and offer a totally ridiculous reponse, I'll need to know which version of Crystal and what type of chart. Depending on the version, there are differences in what/how you can do things.

It's a (vertical)line chart. I'm using Crystal version 8.

OK. I'm going to have to make some assumptions here since I don't have 8.0. If (and I'm assuming) it's like 8.5, open the Chart Analyzer; click (left mouse button) on the line connecting the data points to select the line. Right click and you should have the option to add a trendline and select one of the average functions (mean, moving avg., etc.) to add the trendline to your chart. If it (8.0) isn't like 8.5, then I can't offer anything else.

Thank you. It wasn't exactly as you wrote, but it got me in the right direction. I opened the Analyzer, then right clicked on the chart. Next, I chose to Format Chart and then selected Grid. I chose the Grids Tab and checked the box to Draw Custom Line at xx, where I was able to put in the average (.40).
