I'd like to incorporate a PIX firewall behind the internet router. Right now my internet router appears to be overloaded. Will bringing in a PIX relieve some of this load since I can remove some of the ACL? Or should I look into getting a new internet router as well?

It all depends on what's causing the load. What router are you running and what bandwidth have you got?

1605R with T1. The load is on port 80.

Bandwidth wise the router is fine but I would suggest putting the Pix in and doing the filtering there.

Chris.
