Echo on 5610SW Phones when called from analog ext? We have an echo problem when we try to call an analog ext or an analog extension calls an ip phone. We have "The collector" device which uses an analog port. When we call that to record the message it echos. I tested with a butt-set different ports and all the ports echo to ip. Digital to analog works fine. Any ideas?

it could be the grounding on your 406
also if that does not help turn of agc on the phones

It is documented that ip to alog can experience echo. This is mainly down to terminations etc.

Are they all on cat5 or above?

I plug my buttset directly into the phone switch and have a ip phone call me, the person gets the echo. It is all Cat5e.

Thanks

If you disconnect the IPO from the client's network and connect 1 IP Phone to the IPO Base unit or standalone switch if on IP500 or 412 do you still hear the Echo, If you do I would try the same test with an SOE to rule out hardware etc etc.

What Firmware / Hardware are you running ?

I would try the plug straight into the ipo route but we dont have any power supplies just poe switches. Our vendor claims there is nothing that can fix this echo.
