Hello,

I'm using a head set on my laptop lenovo T60 conecting to 1/8" jacks and on any type of application that I'm using I got echo back for all the incoming sound.
On my side I don't hear any echo, but peoples are receiving back their voice echo...
Like I said on my side (HeadSet) I don't have any problem but I'm sure it's me as I tried SIP call to PSTN and IM laptop to laptop different users and they all got echo from their voice...
I guess they realized how bad are their voice...just kidding :)...

So I checked my settings on microphone removed the BOOST check, lower down volume and no improvement... Is it something like speakers are connected to microphone with an application ?
I used in the past an application like Camtasia which recorded either from microphone or from screen (Video on windows media or from the web)
I think it can be a player in the resolution, but can't figure how to fix it.

Any Ideas ?
Thanks,
Sylvain

Look into your "Monitor" settings...not monitor as in the display monitor but as in the audio monitor. Somehow the sound is being heard by the speaker (the person doing the speaking) both as they are speaking and after it passes through your processing gear. They are hearing a signal that's a few milliseconds behind along with the original. Well, not a few, more like 200 to get any type of "echo" and not a "doubling" effect. You need to eliminate that original signal from the signal path.

See if there's a setting for monitoring or defeating the incoming audio signal and just hearing the processed signal. That's where you're picking up the echo.
