Echange on Windows 2003 in 2000 domain ?

Hi Guys,

I have successfully tested Exch 2003 on Windows 2000 in our mixed mode (mixed 2000/NT AD domain) It works fine.

My question is: would I have any problems if I loaded Windows 2003 on my Exchange 2003 server (I'm setting up the real on now)

or would I be better to stick with Window 2000. The only reason I ask it b/c of my mixed mode windows 2000 domain.

if you setup a test lab first, you'll see that on a Win2k3 server, Exch2k3 will run domainprep and forestprep as a prerequisite before installing Exch2k3. I'm no AD expert but I think installing Win2k3 on top of Exch2k3 is doing it backwards.

Also, if this is the first Win2k3 server in your mixed-mode domain, I think it's a really bad idea to do it first on your Exch2k3 server.
