I just upgraded to Communication Manager 12.22 and trying out the EC500. It calls our Nextel cell phones which are the i60c's. The problem is if you choose not to answer the EC500 call once you opened the phone and close it, or you press no to receiving the call, it goes to the Nextel voice mail and not back to the phone switch. Has anyone else experienced this and had a solution. Can I get Nextel to change something for me.

I'm also using nextel and EC500. The nextel voice mail pics up in 5 rings my definity trasfers calls to audix in 3 rings. Based on my Nextel caller id that appears on the outside display I'll either answer the call or let goto my audix. An EC500 call never reaches my nextel voice mail due to the coverage path in the definity is set to 3 rings.

I'm using a i90c but the model nextel has nothing to with it.

I saw this in a document I received recently when I upgrade to CM2.1. I don't know if you have to enable this function or not. I don't know any more than what I read:

New Extension to Cellular (Release 5.1) enhancements:
• Voice Mail Avoidance: Communication Manager can now detect when the mobile phone is not answering a call and redirect it back to the enterprise voice mail rather than cellular voice mail

The explanation and implementaion can be found here

BUT if you send the call to voicemail..it will go to voicemail. You can remove voicemail from Nextel...even with the avoidance feature..if they push the voicemail button..it goes to voicemail.

In the future everything will work...
