EC=-2008 Failed to login to Arcserve database

I'm using Arcserve 6.5 to backup a Windows NT 4.0 server. The follow error is displayed in the log: [CAT] Failed to login to Arcserve database (EC=-2008).

The result is that no information is merged into the database. Merging a tape also fails.

Checked share and ntfs security. Removed and reinstalled Arcserve. The same error occurs.

Please help.

I know its for 6.61 but its worth looking at.

Note particularly the server admin task, setting account Arcserve uses.

Might also be worth checking the RNNAME environment variable.
