I'm new to Backup Exec ... but have been using Netbackup for about 5 years. Can we setup the jobs to run concurrently and write to the same tape at the same time similar to the way you can with Netbackup? Or can you only run one job at a time?

In a remote site we are backing up 3 servers to one LTO3 tape drive for a total of about 800 GB for the weekend full backup which takes about 27 hrs.

In comparison my Netbackup environment backs up about 300 servers for a total of 10 TB which takes about 20 hrs. But then I have about 40 jobs running at a time on 4 LTO3 tape drives.

This total time also includes the verify portion of the job. Is the verify process a recommended part of every job?

As far as I know you can't. You can use 2 drives at a time for 2 different drives - by setting device to 'all devices'

Backup Exec doent support multithreading/streaming to a single drive. Only Netbackup supports that.

Only one job can run to one drive at a time. And only one resource can be written to tape at a time.
