easy excel formula 1

i think i've done this it before, but i can't find it.

lets say in A1 i have a phone number with the dashes
ie 817-358-4874
in another cell i want a formula that looks at A1, but doesn't show the dashes. so it looks like:
8103584874

make sense?

if all else fails, i'll just do a find/replace to get rid of the dashes and format the cells to the phone number format, i was just curious, cuz i like formulas... almost as much as bluedragon :)

hi, try this. it should B1==SUBSTITUTE(A1,"-","")

alternatively, you could do a search and replace (Ctrl + H) and substitute the daches by nothing
