Did you know that the 1st 911 call in the US was placed 43 years ago on February 16th in Haleyville, Alabama?

may be a little older then that.. the 1st transmited words on the phone were "Watson, get in here, i need help." now, mr bell did not dial 911, but it was a 911 call.. old school..

You know John, I used to actually use that line in my E911 presentations in the past. I had forgotten all about it; thanks for reminding me! I may have to go add that bit of trivia to the blog today. I'll be sure to credit the source ;-)

As for me I thought 911 was way older too - at least it is 11 years older than me Funny that I just assumed it has been around at least 50 years!
