E8601 Failed to connect agent EC = userID = NULL

I have searched the forum but no one seems to have had this problem.

I am running 2003 servers with oracle DB’s On one of the servers the client agent is not connecting on the nightly backups I just keep getting the same error: E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=agent name, EC=user ID = Null)

The next morning I can open the server and run a backup of the DB without editing the security or in fact changing any settings or starting any services. It would seem that there is no reason why the backup fails.


Any ideas?
