Hello,

I have a W2k+SP4 box with ARCServe2000 + SAN option + SP5.
When I try to make a merge I get the folloging error:
E3841 Unable to find session number. (MEDIA=XXX, SESSION=XX, EC=EARLY WARNING)

It happens with two different set of tapes (backup spans to several tapes), so I think that the problem is not on the tapes. I tested with the "DoNotUseCatalog" parameter in the registry but no luck.

I have already read many threads similar to this in this forum but I still do not got a solution or anything to be able to restore my information.

Please, help!!!!.

Early Warning is when the tape drive read a special section on tape that indicates the physical end of the tape is coming up.

Perhaps it is a problem with a backup of just this data.
Do any tapes merge?

This could be a more extensive problem.
Does the backup run with verify?
Can you restore data from tapes?

Did this used to work?
