we are running Brightstor ARCserve v.11 in trial mode, 2 servers are not backing up, the security has been applied accuretly, but still losing connection, could it be caused by the trial mode? are all features available when installed in trial mode? we are able to backup other network servers, but 2 specific machines generate the error mentionned in the subject. we couldnt find any info on error E3691.

any advice would be great

thanks

Trial version is full version with full functionality.
Could be a network problem or something going on at the target system. Sometimes virus detection programs can cause it, try setting it to scan incoming files only. If using the client agent then configure it for a low priority.

we are using f-secure antivirus, disabling the real-time scanning on the target machine did not change anything....what about arcserve patches? does any patch exist for v.11.0? i looked at the support site but couldnt find any info.

thank you

I had the same issue. I had to start backing up the problem server using backup agent to resolve the problem.

I am seeing the E3691 error message when I attempt a full-backup on my Network Appliance filer using the preferred share option. I do not get this error when performing an incremental backup - I assume this is because the amount of data being transferred is much less.

Any thoughts?
