Hi

I want to upgrade my e2k server to e2003 I presently run e2k on win2k in a win2k AD inviroment,

I will most prbably be getting anew server so could move mailboxes over 1 by 1.

can I migrate using the built in migration tool?

Any help appreciated

Thanks
Rob

Just use ADUC to move the mailboxes. Right click on the user account, choose Exchange Tasks, and choose Move mailbox in the wizard.

excellent, how about moving my other exchange objects, pulic folders etc?

Also can I use the new E2003 move mailbox wizard to do this?

See MS KB article 822931. Follow the instructions regarding the public folders and system folders.

This is the best reference that I've found.

Thanks guys,

1 more question, I am presently running e2k in a win2000 AD enviroment, can I still put a win2k3 server in with my e2k3 into this enviroment without having to upgrade the win2k AD stuff??

hope this make sense!

I would recommend upgrading your AD to 2003, but it's not a requirement to install Exchange 2003. I would suggest upgrading Exchange first so that you don't mess up your schema. You will have to do /forestprep and /domainprep for both the AD and Exchange Upgrades. There are some related KB articles at MS that describe the procedure for doing these upgrades.
