E129 customization

I have a customer who, unbelievably, wants to deploy E129's to majority of their users. I've spent some time messing with cfg.xml to see what I can control as to what users can and cannot do on these phones. I'm troubled by the fact they can mess with the phone's config and factory settings, plus logout the phone, so I tried the web GUI to see what different security settings will work. I found the users cannot get to DND enable/disable options in preferences if I set the Configuration via Keypad Menu option to Basic or Constraint mode. Obviously short codes would be an option on DND control. Still not able to prevent anything when it comes to logging out the phone. I'm also seeing there's no access to the IP Office directory of users and groups in the Phonebook, so something tells me this could go downhill quickly once the customer makes the effort to really see what these phones can(not) do. Anyone have a good mix of settings the may have tried on these, or overall advice besides they shouldn't have bought them in the first place?

I have my first install in a couple of weeks because one of our sales guys sold 25 of those pieces of S...t to a customer.

I told him that I will have his head if the customer complains to me that the phones are crap. So far I had gotten through to the sales people that these phones are no good but the customer insisted on the cheapest phones in their new multi million dollar building
I see a nightmare coming our way.
