E-mail notification from Task Scheduler 1

Is it possible to send e-mail from the Task Scheduler? I would like to send an e-mail notification when a task does not complete successfully (i.e., return code not = 0). If it isn't possible directly from the Task Scheduler, is there a way to send e-mail from a batch script (DOS command or VBScript) without having 3rd party software?

http://www.blat.net/.

It can be used in DOS batch scripts.
