I am trying to send an excel file with macros.
But e-mail keeps bouncing back to me from recipient
saying macro file contains virus. I have checked the file
and scanned it with virus checker. there is no virus.
Any suggestions?
Are you trying to send it using VBA code? If you're just trying to email the excel workbook to someone else via good old email, zip it first. Some email systems recognize file types (.wsf is one I know) as virus-friendly. Even if your file doesn't contain a virus, it may remove or block the email. Zipping the file first works for me.

A pirate walks into a bar with a huge ship's steering wheel down his pants.
The bartender asks, "Are you aware that you have a steering wheel down your pants?"
The pirate replies, "Arrrrr! It's driving me nuts!
Had this before.
There was no virus in mine just an over zealous virus scanner that automatically blocked any Macros because they might contain a virus.
I used to zip the file and then send it, that way the scanner never got sight of the excel macros

"Then I’d say what’s the point of having rank if you can’t pull it?"
It could be that the recipients mail scanner is set to reject any attachments with macros. Sometimes you can get around it by renaming the file something other than .xls (I use .exx) before sending it. Just remember to tell the recipient what to rename it to.
