Maybe I am a little gun shy, but this just dose not look on the up and up to me.

this is the latest version of security update, the "September 2003, Cumulative Patch" update which eliminates all known security vulnerabilities affecting MS Internet Explorer, MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express as well as three newly discovered vulnerabilities. Install now to protect your computer from these vulnerabilities, the most serious of which could allow an malicious user to run code on your computer. There is more about running the attached file and thats all you have to do,I checked MS update page and did not find any such patch. Am I being overly carefull or not, Kelly

MS NEVER sends attachments on e-mails. Also, they don't send e-mails to everyone; only people that specifically subscribe to a particular mailing list. It is a virus, do not open it.

This is a new virus known as Swen (or Gibe). Good job being suspicious of this email.

This is not a 'new'(per say) virus. Swen preys upon people's best intentions, appearing as an e-mail that purports to be a security update from Microsoft.

The worm is programmed to send an official-looking e-mail that says it contains a "cumulative patch" for several Internet Explorer, Outlook and Outlook Express vulnerabilities.

Right now, you occupy a point where three lines reach across the expanse of time and space and intersect only there, and that you and only you possess.
