I have a site with email order forms for people to fill in and submit, but what is required in order for the person submitting to either receive, or see a confirmation that their email has been received?
I've noticed some sites provide a pop-up that displays a message something like "thankyou, your email has been received"? Is this a script? If so where could I find one, I've been searching high and low, with no luck! Any help would be much appreciated.

Depends what you're hosting on. If it's NT or 2000 then use something like sendmail.asp which you can use html to customise to you web site. Otherwise you will need to use a cgi script, there's a bunch at and some are free!

Do post back if you need more detail.

are you using Exchange server....if so you can go to Exchange server admin, and then connections, and the Internet Mail connection. In here go to the Internet Mail tab and the check box down the very bottom says Enable Tracking.....tick this and close Exchange. Then when sending a mail you can ask for a read receipt...in some outlooks its in Tools->Options and receipts tab. Jay~
