Happy Friday All...

Is there a way to import an Access database attached to an e-mail without opening the actual database?

The problem is someone sent a 10MB database via e-mail and I can't open it. The MS security patch won't let me.

Thanks.

Have the sender send it to you again.
Before they send it, however, have them change the file extension on the file from mdb to txt. Send filename.txt to you so that your security doesn't catch it, and then when you receive it, change the extention back to mdb before opening it. Make sure they don't leave the txt extension on their copy please. Anne Troy

Hi Dreamboat...(Interesting handle!)

When I try to open the e-mail it just sits there for 5 minutes and when it finally opens I get this message that the attachments' been blocked due to security patch blah, blah...went over to another computer that doesn't have the same patch and it grinded away for a few but it opened.

How do I get around that stupid security patch?

No problem, but it sounds like you did some kind of update. Generally, SR1 doesn't have this type of security set, it's in SR2, so I dunno how you've got the patch.

The ONLY way I know to get rid of it in 2000 is to uninstall Office and then reinstall.

You can go here for additional utilities instead:
