hi all,
so the hosting company is using win server 2003 servers for an e-commerce site that we will launch eventually. the site will be done using asp.net with backend dbs.

here is my ?, do hosting companies take care of the security issues as far as firewalls, and all that stuff?
we are paying for the dedicated access like $60/month.

is there a guideline to use to evaluate/assess security features for an e-commerce site

this is a good question, does anyone know the answer?

Hi,

Why don't you email hosting company support first before you host your services? Basically it depends on the service that the hosting provided. Sometimes you have to patch it yourself if you have full access (admin right) to the box. Other then that, the hosting will look after the security patch. Always check wiht hosting support guy before getting any services from them.
