Hi,

I am unsuccessfully trying to dynamically link Micromedia Flesh 4 movie in my authorware 5 application.

I find it easy to link an external movie such as .avi by using something like File=FileLocation^"\\Media\\Quick2.avi" as the filename. However, I get an error when I try using in the Link File text box (Flash Asset Properties) and install it on a different directory.

I also tried only typing \media\ani_feet.swf as a filename and it works when testing but comes up with an error when packaged and moved to another directory, ie. from c:\test1 to d:|test2. Each directory has a media subdirecory and ani_feet.swf in the media directory but the application stops with an error when it gets to the movie.

Any help is appreciated.

Since this is an old post, you may have already solved this. But you might try using FileLocation^media\ani_feet.swf as the filename (don't use a backslash before "media" or AW will always look at the root dir.

The other thing you might explore is whether you have the appropriate XTRAS in your XTRAS folder. This is the first thing that I look for if something works in development mode, but not runtime.
