Please can anybody end my torture!!!!!!

I have inherited an ASP intranet, which was originally done in UltraDEv 3 but was upgraded to UltraDev 4. It is running on my W2K machine using IIS to publish.

I have managed to get my Intranet to preview on my local machine. However there appears to be a problem with the dynamic text on the template page.

The site is designed using a template which has dynamic text with latest news and sales figure. However, when I preview any of the site pages I get a message saying

HTTP 500.100 - Internal Server Error - ASP error
Internet Information Services

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Technical Information (for support personnel)

Error Type:
Microsoft VBScript runtime (0x800A01A8)
Object required: ''
/TMP1mn8akoa9p.asp, line 483

When I look at that line of code it refers to the dynamic text in the template page. If I remove the dynamic text and update all pages then the pages preview fine and all the other ASP aspects work.

It is a strange and frustrating situation.

Please soembody help before I go over the edge! B-(

Hey red..

did you get the connections set up on your remote host?? or are you using DSNless connections? Live long and make your kids suffer..

Hi Cheech,

I managed to get the connection set up on the remote host. I was actually able to view the intranet via the browser, then suddenly it didn't work and now I get the above error.

Thanks for the tips on the DSN. Any ideas about my new problem?

Not at the moment, what exactly is line 483? Live long and make your kids suffer..

Line 483 refers to some dynamic text on the Template page. I have tested the data binding on the template page and the data is there but when I access a page that I've applied the template to, it throws up this error.

When I remove this dynamic text from the tempalte and apply the template page, everything seems to work fine. :-(

Make sure the database is accessable from the live server & then post the code so we can have a fuller look..
