dynamic select box/text box

I have a question. Does anyone know of a way to create a select box that works like a browser history list. For example, while the user types the box is being searched, if the value is in the select box then nothing is added, but if the value does not exist then the value is added to the select box. Thanks in advance!

Do you want this just on the client or do you want the list to be "remembered" during a session?

It could be just on the client. I am going to post it in a form so as long as the value was selected I could access the varible.

Then you'd need to use JavaScript (or VBScript) on the client to manipulate the contents of the box when the user enters a value...
